About Me

I’m Claire. Who am I? That’s a good question…

I grew up in a pretty rural area (my closest neighbors are a quarter mile down the road) surrounded by fields, woods, and cows. Lots and lots of cows. I have a love/hate relationship with living in the country.

I graduated from Wartburg College in 2012 with a degree in Music Education/Music Therapy. Some of my best memories were made there, especially singing in Wartburg Choir.

After college graduation, I moved to Troy, New York to complete a music therapy internship for 7 months. Let me tell you, I learned a lot about myself in that short 7 months. That’s also where my weight loss journey began (you can read more about that here)

I teach elementary music and freshmen choir and I absolutely love it.  I couldn’t imagine doing anything but teaching. I earned my Kodaly Level I certification in July of 2014 which further solidified my love for teaching young children.

I have always had a love for food. My sweet tooth is huge. Like, a thousand pins on my Pinterest board huge (you can check out my Pinterest boards here) I love desserts. Probably a little too much…

Navigating the dating world is hard enough. Navigating the dating world as a single twenty-something living with her parents in the middle of nowhere? That gets pretty interesting. And that’s where this blog comes in…
